Chris Thomson is the Founder and President of Thomson Dwellings Inc. He is completely passionate about creating liveable works of art that capture the energy of a space while reflecting the homeowners’ personalities. An Okanagan native, Chris has lived and worked in the Kelowna vicinity for most of his life. He began building homes almost two decades ago. Thomson Dwellings is proud to have been recognized by the CHBA on numerous occasions as a Tommie Award Winner for excellence in function and design.
Previously, Chris was President of a development company that was one of the first to explore, design and implement carriage homes into Kelowna during the late 1990s and through the Millennium. He is an expert in understanding the City of Kelowna’s zoning policies and bylaw practices. With his supreme insight into niche markets, Chris developed his own company, Thomson Dwellings, to adapt and evolve with today’s market. His portfolio includes Custom Builds, Spec Homes, Home “Uplifts”, Development and Strata Opportunities. Clients seek functional, comfortable, innovative and aesthetically unique places to live. Chris believes in every one of these attributes and incorporates them into each home that the company has the pleasure of building.
Nicole Thomson, Chris’s wife, is passionate about harmonizing designs that blend seamlessly within their surroundings. Born and raised in the Okanagan, she has witnessed the city’s evolution and strives to make a positive impact on her hometown by reducing our carbon footprint while creating homes and neighbourhoods that will stand the test of time. As a Mother of three girls, Nicole is equally focused on sustainability as she is with impeccable taste. Highly organized and efficient, Nicole advocates living life to the fullest and following your dreams. She has an artistic eye and a vibrant personality, making her an integral part of the Thomson Dwellings team. Her creative capabilities are apparent throughout the design and decor choices made within each of the spec homes and certain custom builds. Nicole enjoys collaborating with her favourite local interior designers on a regular basis.
Lance is an integral member of our crew. He is a Red Seal Carpenter with years of experience, beginning his apprenticeship in 2005. Skilled in all aspects of carpentry, including renovations, back framing, cedar and beam work, as well as concrete and flat work, Lance brings enthusiasm to every job site. He is well versed in working with insulated concrete forms and Honka. During his down time, Lance enjoys the outdoors as much as possible fishing, camping, hiking and skiing.
Rob is our Journeyman Carpenter and a vital part of the Thomson Dwellings family. With over 15 years of carpentry experience, including log homes, timber frame houses and stone masonry, he is knowledgeable in all facets of the industry. Rob has 5 years of supervisory experience working as the Site Superintendent. He has completed a range of commercial and high-end residential projects. Time off includes enjoying many sports and outdoor activities such as snowboarding, baseball, dirt biking, camping and playing golf.
Shea is a Red Seal Carpenter within our Thomson Dwellings family that has a keen eye for detail. Extremely organized, he enjoys accomplishing goals as a team. Shea has years of residential and commercial experience under his belt. The majority of his skills developed from completing high-end residential projects and a variety of Federal ventures throughout Western Canada. He enjoys the Okanagan landscape and spends time riding his bike when he is not at work.
Julie crossed the pond in 2007, leaving England to move to Canada. She has over 3 decades of accounting experience, specializing in a construction background. Julie’s husband and three sons work in the construction industry. She is always thrilled when all of her sons are home visiting at the same time! Julie loves living in wine country, with our world class Okanagan vintages and the gorgeous vineyards. She has fun 10 pin bowling and watching movies with her family.
